Road to Miss USA 2023 - Official Delegates
72nd Edition of Miss USA 2023 beauty pageant is going to be held in 2023 at Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, Nevada United States. Morgan Romano of North Carolina will crown her successor at the end of the event. The winner will go on to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2023 in late 2023 at El Salvador. The selection process of delegates is done through applicants joining each state pageant who fit the requirement of the beauty pageant. The same applicant is not allowed to compete for more than one state per year but she can join another state pageant the following year. Starting from this edition, the Miss Universe organization has opened the doors for married women and mothers to compete in the pageant as long as they are under 28 years old. Delegates from 50 states and the District of Columbia are selected through stage pageants which started from September 2022 to August 2023. After the victory of Miss USA 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel winning the Mouawad Miss Universe 2022 crown, the number of applicants for Miss USA 2023 has increased rapidly. Here are the 51 official delegates of the upcoming Miss USA 2023 beauty pageant.
Miss Alabama - Sophie Burzynski Age: 21 Hometown: Auburn
Sophie Burzynski, a student at Auburn University, is the new Miss Alabama USA. Burzynski, who competed as Miss Auburn-Opelika USA, was crowned Saturday night during a ceremony at the Gogue Performing Arts Center in Auburn. Burzynski, a senior at Auburn, has a double major in nutrition science/pre-dental and business management. She‘s the founder of a wedding videography company, Videos by Sophie B.
Miss Alaska - Jordan Naylor Age: 25 Hometown: Anchorage
The 25-year-old beauty who studied marketing at Boise State University bested 13 other competitors to win the state title. She will now prepare to represent Alaska at the Miss USA 2023 pageant in Reno, Nevada later this year.
Miss Georgia - Rachel Russaw Age: 24 Hometown: Atlanta
Rachel Russaw Miss Georgia USA 2023 will represent her GA State in the upcoming Miss USA 2023 Competition. She works Influence(HER) IRL for Motivation and Mental Health Support who lives in Atlanta, Studied at The University of Alabama and did schooling in Jacksonville Christian Academy.
Miss Hawaii - Savannah Gankiewicz Age: 27 Hometown: Wailea
A self-described travel bug, Gankiewicz moved to the Philippines to model and compete in the Mutya Ng Pilipinas pageant, where she won the Miss Overseas Community title in 2017. She also spent time in Los Angeles where she was signed with a modeling agency before returning to Maui just prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gankiewicz selected What Makes You Feel Beautiful, a 501 (c)3 nonprofit based on Maui that advocates for female empowerment. “It helps women cultivate self love. It helps them to stop being so critical, and it teaches us how to have a self-care routine and leadership capabilities,” she said.
Miss Idaho - Hannah Menzner Age: 27 Hometown: Boise
Idaho native, Hannah, 27, is an MBA candidate at the Wharton School and published author of her nonfiction book, “Glass Ceiling Epiphanies”. She is a former Boise Rotary Scholar and Idaho’s Distinguished Student Award winner. Her deep passion for mental health stemmed from her experience volunteering for a crisis hotline, and she has since founded Project IdaHOPE to teach Idahoans to spot the suicide warning signs and risk factors.
Sylvia Masters is a native of Houma, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism. While studying at Nicholls, she worked at HTV10 in Houma, hosting shows and reporting for local events around the community, including “Saints On The Bayou.” One of her shows was “The Woman Factor with Sylvia Masters,” which focused on discussing topics and issues that directly influence women of all ages. Sylvia also interned for WAFB (CBS) in Baton Rouge and WGNO (ABC) in New Orleans. Currently, she is the morning anchor and reporter for KLFY News 10 in Lafayette covering news and events that affect Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana. She credits her love for journalism by believing everyone has a story to share. Sylvia is also an accomplished musician. She sings and plays the piano for weddings, funerals, and social events. She especially enjoys singing the National Anthem at sporting events and has competed in pageants for the last 13 years. Sylvia most recently placed 2nd runner up in the Miss Louisiana USA pageant in February 2022.
Miss Maine - Juliana Morehouse Age: 23 Hometown: Portland
Juliana Morehouse, Miss Maine USA 2023, is a resident of Portland, ME. She is pursuing her Master’s of Arts in Theological Studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is an alumna of the College of Charleston where she earned a BA in Communication with a minor in English. During her time at the College of Charleston, she was a dean’s list student and a president’s list student. She was inducted into a national communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Association.
Miss Massachusetts - Annika Sharma Age: 21 Hometown: Newton
Annika Sharma is an author, a wealth management analyst and a beauty queen from Newtown, Massachusetts, United States. She had studied Bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston College. She joined the Bank of America in Boston, Massachusetts as a wealth management analyst.

Miss Oregon - Manju Bangalore Age: 25 Hometown: Corvallis
Manju is a physicist, actor, model, and founder of two nonprofits. Since dreaming about becoming an astronaut when she was a child, Manju has worked at two NASA centers and in the White House. She is now enrolled in a postgraduate program training her to go to space one day. In addition to her scientific accomplishments, her acting and modeling careers have taken her from working with Beyoncé to shooting with Sports Illustrated. Miss Washington - Samantha Gallia Age: 24 Hometown: Seattle
This two-time marathon runner earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with high honors and delivered the commencement speech at graduation. As an Oral Radiology Resident at the University of Washington, Samantha formed #GirlDocsRock to encourage young women in science and health careers. Guided by her strong faith, Samantha served her community as president of her sorority, Delta Gamma, a breast cancer support advocate, and president of Club SCOPE, providing dental care to underserved communities.
